Children's Bereavement Centre

Although it is a natural part of life the loss of someone close can be a distressing and overwhelming experience, especially for children and young people. Local charity, The Children’s Bereavement Centre are here to offer the right guidance and support through this difficult time.

The charity is run by a committed team of passionate, friendly, and professional people who are qualified to help with the grieving process brought on by the death or terminal illness diagnosis of someone close. Their services are available to residents across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and are offered completely free of charge to those that need it.

Open to children and young people aged 3 to 18 and their families, the Centre offers a welcoming and safe environment for them to receive the help and guidance they need at one of the most traumatic times in their lives.

The Children’s Bereavement Centre receives just 4% of funds from statutory funding. For the rest they rely on the generosity of various charitable trusts, organisations, donations and the local community organising fundraising activities and taking on challenges just like a tandem sky-dive.

How it Works

Minimum Sponsorship £395. The minimum sponsorship amount includes the fee to tandem skydive which the CBC will pay to Skydive Langar. You will be required to pay a £60 registration fee and at least £170 of your sponsorship (not including the £60 registration fee) must be paid to CBC either via bank transfer, cash, cheque or have been raised through your online fundraising platform one month prior to the date of the jump. Failure to do so could result in your place being void.

The total sponsorship amount of £395 must be achieved at least 1 week prior to the date of the jump. But don’t worry or let this put you off. Full fundraising support will be given to help you achieve and exceed your target amount.

Fundraising for the CBC will mean the jump will only cost you the £60 registration fee and that’s not all, you will also have the feel good factor of raising vital funds for a local charity.
