skydive hijab headwear

It is absolutely possible to skydive wearing headwear, including wigs, headscarves, toupes, hijab and turbans. Our tandem instructors will be able to advise you on the best way to wear your headwear to keep it comfortably in place, and you can talk to us about that during the tandem safety briefing or, if you prefer, speak to reception on arrival or get in touch in advance if you have any questions.

Considerations for headwear while skydiving

It is possible to comfortably wear a headscarf, hijab, turban, wig, toupe and other headwear for your skydive.

You will be falling at speeds upwards of 130mph so it is worth ensuring your headwear is securely in place. We are happy to show you how we have seen others successfully wearing the same headgear and to advise you so you can find the best method for you.

It’s also important, for anything we wear to skydive, that the item does not pose a risk to the equipment, either by inhibiting its function or making it difficult to find handles.

We are happy to discuss your chosen attire with you during the safety brief or in advance if you feel you’d like more time to chat and find the best solution.

What to wear for a skydive

As well as considering your chosen headwear, it’s worth giving some thought to the rest of your clothing and shoes.

Comfortable clothing is the best option. As a simple rule of thumb, if you would wear your chosen outfit to go out for a brisk walk, it’s probably good to go.

Avoiding anything which inhibits your movement or flaps/moves around excessively is important as we will need you to adopt the correct body position and, as noted above, the clothing should not interfere with the skydiving equipment.

You are welcome to wear fancy dress for your jump, providing it meets the requirements outlined here. We have jumpsuits for you to wear which can cover your clothing and provide an extra layer if it’s a bit chilly. If you have a charity t shirt or similar you’d like to wear over the top of one of our jumpsuits, you are welcome to do so.
